Medical Simulation Center

The Oman Medical Simulation Center (OMSC) has organized a short course in Healthcare Simulation which was conducted by Ms. Michelle Kelly Hewitt.

The Airway Management course was conducted twice on 1 February 2011 followed by 26 April 2011 in the Center. This course was designed to give the residents the opportunity to learn, practice and demonstrate many airway skills used in the resuscitation effort.

•    The Course on Healthcare Simulation was conducted on 6 – 9 February 2011 by Ms. Michelle Kelly Hewitt, the Director of Simulation and Technologies from University of Technology Sydney.

•    The Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Provider Course was held on 2 – April 2011 followed by the Instructor Course on 5 – 6 April 2011.

  The Minor Surgical Procedure Workshop was also held in the Center on 11 April 2011 led by Dr. Ammar Al Kashmiri together with Dr. Khalifa Al Yousufi, emergency physicians, Khoula Hospital. 

 he Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics Provider Course (ALSO course) was also held on 21 – 22 April 2011 together with the Instructor Course on 23 April 2011.

 ·         The Sim Man 3G Patient Simulator Training was also held on 4 & 7 May 2011. The features of the most advanced simulator and the technical know-how was explained by Mr. Abu Bhakr from Laerdal to the various doctors who attended.
